The purpose of Garrett Community Concert Band is to provide
musicians of Garrett County and the surrounding area an opportunity
to:
Play together for pleasure and to enhance
their musicianship;
Present concerts for the enjoyment and
cultural enrichment of Garrett County and its visitors;
Provide student musicians with moral
support, and scholarships to pursue further musical growth.
Concerts are presented for the public with the goal of increasing, for
listeners of all ages, an awareness of, and the opportunities to hear, a
variety of music styles associated with concert band performances,
including jazz, rousing marches and popular and classic favorites. The
annual Fourth of July concert on the lawn at Garrett College is presented
just before the community fireworks, and is one of our favorites, and a
favorite of many in the community.
